COMSATS has been endeavoring from time to time to make the best use of latest and upcoming technologies to benefit various sections of population in its member countries. In the past COMSATS has initiated and successfully completed a number of developmental programs and projects of social and economical interest to the people. COMSATS’ initiatives in the fields of information and communications technologies speak high of its developmental interventions. The projects such as COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), and COMSATS Internet Services in Pakistan, as well as the program titled ‘ICTs for the Rural Development of Remote Areas of Northern Pakistan’ are some of the landmarks of its success.
